Rebecca Armstrong
An Irish Authenticity

My project is an honest and unbiased exploration of the Irish identity. Through a lens of culture, language and religion, I investigated the relationship between our past and present and the way in which society is redefining the Irish identity for future generations. Engagement with people of varying ages and backgrounds was a defining factor throughout this project and interviews, film and audio footage gathered in a variety of environments has been manifested in a cultural campaign. Through digital and print based media, my work seeks to highlight the importance of our heritage and encourages the user to question their preconceptions of traditional culture and heritage within a contemporary Irish society.
