What have you discarded today - Was it really worthless?
The average person in Ireland creates 250 grams of waste a day, the majority of which is not recycled. For your information, that is almost as heavy as all my pieces combined in the exhibition. Made using a combination of traditional metalwork and recycled milk bottles, my work is not about demonising plastic, but attempting to foster a greater appreciation for its value. I believe that with the right consideration and craftsmanship, plastics can be made just as valuable as traditionally precious materials.
Plastic is forever, just like diamonds.
