My current work focuses on jewellery that is inspired by the Victorian era. Paintings and fashion statements in 1860’s played a big role in the development of my collection. When Queen Victoria’s husband passed away in 1861, Royal Highness fell into an irreversible mourning phase. The grief inspired the choice of colour that was used in my work. Queen Victoria is a jewellery icon, for years she designed jewellery for her family and close friends. I used laser cutting and riveting as the main making techniques to create a contemporary jewellery collection that pays tribute to Victorian jewellery.
