Orla's work is inspired by old railway tracks that run behind her home in co Kerry, which is overgrown with efflorescent flora. She has focused in on the organic forms and textures that can be easily missed unless time is taken to stop and look. Rather than presenting factual pieces, she has focused on techniques and materials trying to develop forms that do not follow logical criteria. Her pieces are notable for their perfect finish and tactile nature. This is of great importance and bears witness to great craftsmanship.
