Phones have quickly become the most used product of our time. Almost everyone has one but are they aware of what lies 'Beneath the Screen'? This toolkit, used by transition year students and teachers, is designed to educate students about the rare earth elements that are hidden away in the components of their phones. Students explore and question the source of these materials, the unfair labour that can be involved in the mining processes and how our obsession with owning phones that are slimmer and more streamline is having devastating effects on the environment.
