‘Chum’ is an oral motor development toolkit for children aged 3-10 who are weaning from tube feeding onto eating orally. When a child is prescribed a feeding tube, it is a medical necessity. Parents are often reassured that their child will stop needing the tube and start eating on their own. Some children become tube dependent which can require lengthy periods of feeding therapy to help them eat. This fun and interactive approach to weaning brings attention to an area of medical design that has been underexplored. These tools have been developed through extensive testing and evaluation with medical professionals, parents and children.
