Deirbhile Seville
Left in the Lurch

Homelessness, the refugee crisis, animal cruelty, war, location and socio-economical discrimination are a few of the many issues that face modern society. 'Left in the Lurch' reflects Seville's interests in social issues and comments on current political situations. Her work lends a visual voice to those who are misheard, mistreated or misunderstood. Drawing a metaphorical comparison between the turmoil both animals and humans face, it questions why some people are more willing to welcome a dog into their home, than a person onto their land.
