My artistic practice is immersed directly within the field of dementia care, employing a socially engaged approach within care home environments. As pedagogy, this practice offers a fertile ground for the residents of these care homes to develop critical thinking through learning-by-doing, even if only for that moment in time. Along with creating work together, these encounters provide a secure space encouraging friendship and solidarity to flourish. The practice strives to implement and re-establish a sense of inclusion for those who may feel deprived of it, a space to express their voice through creativity.
