In Ireland, 85% of the methane produced is from the farming industry. We have created an ability to compartmentalise and dissociate from the meat on our plates and the effects of dairy production on our environment. ‘Something Doesn't Smell Right’ explores the abattoir setting for the meat that we eat and the methane given off in its production. Through ceramic casts of severed cow’s legs the aim is to provoke changes in the way we think about what we consume and the impact it has on our environment. These casts have been made from discarded hoofs from the meat industry.
