Human Vessels

Individual humans are vessels that age, become weathered, break, decay and undergo repair. This body of work references microscopic imagery from the science of Haematology and aspects of lived experience relating to renal failure. An essential aspect of human nature is the internal struggle to keep a body whole. Haematology plays a vital role in maintaining corporeal equilibrium. I engage an intuitive, practice-led response to thinking through materials. Differing shades of red allude to the various states of health depicted in pathology slides. The semi-solid state of glass is somewhat analogous to life-stages, fragile yet strong.
