Ro Lynam
Slum Room. €400 Per Month. Headspace not included.

A room within a room. The artist recreates her own sought after rented bedroom residing in a large Georgian house on Dublin City's exclusive Leeson street.
This installation combines two compartments, an exact replica of the artist's own bedroom standing at 4ft 9in and an attic headspace. Extending from the lower bedroom, the attic headspace functions as spatial relief from the constraints and bodily contortions the proportions of the lower room inflict upon the occupant.
After living in such conditions for 3 years the artist recreates the bedroom in hopes of highlighting the depraved reality of Ireland's housing crisis.
