Painting a Path to the Past

All my early memories are of the garden and those clearly defined roles created by my parents in that domestic space. I may be painting a path to link together their rival loves, the sensuality of the female clothesline complementary to the masculine activity of digging, planting, providing. The washing on the line, the ordered rows and furrows, the spacing of seed, the colour of vegetables green and orange are in my paintings today.
