A.O.P is a body of work that responds to the complex setting of the National Forensic Mental Health Service (NFMHS). It seeks to explore the role of art within it as a community and health context. The artist uses multiple approaches in response to the challenging field: collaborating with residents of the Central Mental Hospital and the Central Mental Hospital Carers Group, as well as initiating an innovative research and artist residency project. A.O.P is supported by the NFMHS and a scholarship from NCAD, with further funding from CREATE, Kildare County Council Arts Service and Creative Ireland.
