Emily Hayden
Another Perspective

I work in the traditional forms of oil paint and drawing media. As a figurative artist I seek to evoke a strong presence of character from the subject, working from photographs in which the person has been caught off guard or captured in situations that appear uncomfortable. Aesthetic principles are explored throughout my work via mathematical compositions and colour theory. My work is symbiotic with the classical figure and contemporary culture; combining abstraction and realism I create an alternate perspective into the subject’s persona.
