Solutions for the Border

In 1984 Margaret Thatcher considered building a wall along the Border in Ireland and ghettoising West Belfast. This work explores this alternate history which has particular relevance to Brexit. All components of the work strive to create the atmosphere of a dystopic world, in which human rights are non existent and there is complete social breakdown. Issues surrounding Brexit are displaced out of our present and into the 1980s and Thatcher out of the 1980s and into the now. The barriers of the past have broken down and and the ghosts of our past have manifested in the present.
