Sophia O’Sullivan is a digital artist based in Wicklow. Her work focuses on concepts of dematerialisation and digital dependency influenced by artists such as John Gerrard, Hito Steryl and theorist Lev Manovich. Called from multiple sources, her work uses a personal methodology that combines computer-based renderings with abstract visual materials and 3d modelling software. She simulates unsettling environments that evoke the cultural conditions of materiality in our present.
